New House in Guatemala

Gives 1 house
Gift Description:
With your gift, families will work alongside volunteers to build themselves a new, clean, dry and safe home. Many families in Guatemala currently live in homes made of cornstalk, sheet metal and dirt floors. Such conditions lead to parasitic and respiratory diseases. Additionally, many homes are perched on steep hillsides, at risk of sliding away when the rainy season starts. Their new home will have a concrete floor and a vented stove to prevent disease, as well as a latrine, retaining wall (to prevent landslides), and utilities. This gift allows Guatemalans to work alongside volunteers to earn a home that will drastically change their lives.
