Mosquito Nets for African Kids

Gives 1 mosquito net
Gift Description:
$4.32 provides a mosquito net to protect a child from malaria. Malaria, a disease transmitted exclusively by mosquitos that is both preventable and treatable, kills nearly 800,000 people every year, and 90% of the fatalities are children. Sleeping under a mosquito net protects families from mosquitoes’ nightly assaults and helps stop the spread of one of the world’s deadliest epidemics, as it can reduce rates of malaria as much as 90%. By donating bed nets to families in need, you are reducing the negative immediate effects of malaria, such as a fever, fatigue and vomiting, as well as slowing the global spread of such a preventable disease.
