Your gift will give a piglet to a family in need. By the time one of these little pigs is one year old, it will weigh around 200 lbs. and give birth to its first litter of piglets, which can be sold at market. In the meantime, it will provide plenty of manure for fertilizer to use in a family garden. Pigs also provide valuable protein that is easy to dress, cure and store. Easy to keep and inexpensive to care for, pigs provide food, income and security—especially when the average sow can produce 15 piglets a year! Pigs are ready to be slaughtered after 6 months of age, with each pig producing well over 100 pounds of meat. Pigs require little space, provide an excellent fertilizer for crops, and happily feed on scraps and other bio waste not used by a family.
